What is Phishing?
Phishing is an attempt to obtain sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, credit card and banking information, usually for malicious reasons, by disguising as a legitimate website. Most often it comes as an email seeming to be from a trusted source, such as your bank or Microsoft. However, clicking on the link in the email takes you to a fake site and if you log in you have been compromised.
It is sometimes very hard to tell a phishing email from a legit one. That's why we created the Phishing Hotline.
Our phishing hotline is free for all to use. Simply forward the email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will check it out and report back to you.
Here's how it works:
You must be a member of the Tech Next Door Neighbor Program to access the Phishing Hotline. It's free to join and there are many advantages in addition to the Phishing Hotline.
